Comments: Reintroduced in 1967. Also introduced as a sport fish (Ref. 12257). Species has formed breeding populations in South Australia and Victoria, otherwise the fishery was maintained by hatchery reared fish. Feed selectively on small endemic fishes and fish fry and may have affected the numbers of galaxiids, pygmy perch, Nannoperca australis, and the golden perch, Macquaria ambigua in southern rivers (Ref. 12257).     Ref:  MacKinnon, M., 1987
